Important
During this past year, the town of Brooks applied for and received a grant from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program from the federal government.  The funds from this grant are the basis for our local Brooks Home Rehabilitation Program that supplies qualified individuals and contractors to apply for help. Here are the various forms and information for individuals and contractors to apply for portions of the grant.  There is still (Aug 25, 2007) money available from this grant!

Welcome to the Brooks town government web site.  The purpose of this site is to provide information about town government to the citizens of Brooks.  Our goal is to make this site as as useful as possible to the residents and property owners of Brooks.

Brooks is a small, friendly and very active rural community of 1022 people located in the mid-coast region about 12 miles northwest of Belfast at the intersection of routes 7 and 139.  Brooks is home to a nine hole golf course, summer community theater  27 miles of groomed snow mobile trails  and a local community park.  Basic needs are met by a local grocery store, a general store with fuel, and a local hardware store and restaurant.  Additional businesses provide a broad array of services to meet local needs.
Residents of Brooks are fiercely dedicated to supporting our community.  In addition to the many volunteers that actively support the work of our town government, a variety of civic and fraternal organizations contribute significantly to life in Brooks. Among these are the Brooks Booster Club, the Harvest Home Grange, the Grant Staples American Legion Post, the Marsh River Lodge (AF & AM), the Morse Memorial Elementary School PTO, and the Friends of the Marsh River Theater.
